A Christmas List You'll Want to Check Twice

Updated: Sep 1, 2022

Christmas is a magical time of year filled with hope and light. It's a season of joy filled with loved ones gathered together to celebrate Christmas while building relationships and making memories that will last a lifetime. Make this Christmas the most memorable Christmas yet with our list of activities that are perfect for the whole family!

Bundle up, grab a friend, and head out the door to the skating rink this season as you glide through the holidays. Lace up the skates, hit the ice and see for yourself why ice skating at Center Ice in Glen Ellyn, Illinois is one of the area's favorite activities for people of all ages! Budget-friendly and always fun, ice skating is great for all experience levels, and a perfect addition to a healthy lifestyle. Whether you are with friends, family, or on a date, ice skating is a great activity for all occasions.

Deck the halls and your tree this year after you visit a nearby Christmas tree farm! Choose your own Christmas tree and even cut it yourself. Two of our favorite Christmas tree farms that we've personally visited are listed as follows:

Pioneer Tree Farm: http://www.pioneertreefarm.net

and

This year we went to Ben's Tree Farm and got to cut down our own Christmas tree! We absolutely love both Christmas tree farms, and each have different activities and magical touches they offer. Ben's has a wide selection of Christmas trees in every shape and size which makes it all the more exciting to search for a tree for you and your family.

Take a horse drawn "sleigh" ride in a wagon all throughout Ben's Christmas Tree Farm to find the perfect Christmas tree. You can ride for free, and the horses will take you anywhere from the furthest side of the fields to the closest tree in the lot. Get your picture taken with Santa while he's visiting from the North Pole before the Christmas rush. For a limited time, you can meet Mrs. Claus as well while she comes to town to check on Santa. Don't forget to check the barn for more activities!

No matter where you decide to go, choosing a Christmas tree is always a fun tradition to share with loved ones as you enter into the holiday season together.

Take a drive down Candy Cane Lane as you drive through neighborhoods decked out in thousands of twinkling lights. There's nothing quite like seeing a neighborhood completely lit up in the midst of darkness with all of the hard work and stunning light displays for all to see. Change things up by grabbing your loved one, and take a stroll through neighborhoods that look like they're taken straight out of Hallmark movie.

Walk through winter wonderlands at the Morton Arboretum as they put on their annual Christmas light display for guests of all ages. Experience the magic of stepping into a land illuminated for acres as you walk through the arboretum with a new perspective. Thousands of lights cover every branch and create a breathtaking display that is sure to captivate you.

It wouldn't be Christmas without the cookies! Get into the Christmas spirit while you bake the highly anticipated sugar cookies that everyone has been waiting for all year long. Blast Christmas music and sing at the top of your lungs with all of your family and friends gathered together while you create masterpieces and works of art that are much too pretty to eat. Visit our recipe page here!

What are some of your favorite Christmas traditions? No matter how you decide to spend this Christmas season, we hope you're able to spend it with loved ones building relationships and making memories that will last a lifetime. Merry Christmas!
